What Makes The Online UPS System Better?

In an online UPS system setup, the out of the UPS is constantly supplying current to the load. In prior models, that are now considered outdated and obsolete for the most part, these would only switch the UPS output to the load when the main power supply failed. This would, in turn result in a momentary spike in the power supply and has been seen to cause issues to the devices and machines that are connected to it, sometimes resetting computers and generating interference.

With an online system, there is never a break in the connection, with the mains supplying constant charging current to the batteries in addition to the UPS output that is generated from the batteries. Due to this, at the time of a power failure, the system does not need to switch the supply connection and as a result there is constant, the consistent voltage generated. It has been seen that the Online UPS system protects additionally from brownouts and voltage spikes on the main line.

An Online UPS System has principally 3 modes of operation. They can be classified into:
  •          Normal Mode
  •          By-Pass Mode
  •          Battery Mode
